If you remember the controversy swirling about in cyberspace last year regarding allegations by Sublime Stitching about us, here’s an update: Urban Threads and Sublime Stitching have reached an agreement, and Jenny Hart has issued a retraction. You can read it here (PDF).Many thanks to Jenny Hart and Sublime Stitching for this retraction.
After a long legal process, and several hours of tweaking and wordsmithing and editing, both parties agreed to the above statement. All of us at Urban Threads and Embroidery Library are more than pleased to put this matter to rest. Jenny’s retraction paves the way for everyone involved and interested to move forward in a positive manner. Many, many thanks to the thoughtful and creative community of embroiderers whose love, support, comments, and suggestions have brought us through -- you mean the world to us.
Despite its upsets, the past year has been really amazing. We’ve added a couple of awesome new people to our 20-person team (Embroidery Library and Urban Threads are 100% employee-owned). We’ve introduced more designs based on your requests and ideas (The crazier the better! Keep ‘em coming!). We’ve had the pleasure and privilege to better know the fabulous, offbeat community of stitchers who dig our work.
You’re the best, and we love what we do because of you. As we move into our third year of business with this matter in the past, we’re focusing on creative new directions … and we’re excited to have you along for the ride.
All the best,
Niamh, Deb, and the Urban Threads gang
