Handmade Highlights – Cherry Blossom Ship WIP

Untitled-1

Adoring this in-progress shot of the Cherry Blossom Ship design. I love the varied embroidery thread weight that Hal Calico used to make the ship really pop. It looks so sophisticated stitched all in cream.

Nauticus Ikea Hack from Quick Pics -The best and brightest ideas by Urban Threads customers from facebook, flickr, instagram and more.

Ashley sent us this amazing project on facebook, with the description: “My first IKEA hack! The original was a Rast three-drawer dresser. The wood was stained with a red oak, and the fronts were wrapped in an embroidered canvas fabric. I’m really happy with how this came out.” Holy wow! I would be too. What a cool update using the Nauticus pack!

Color Inspirations – Sand & Aqua

Try this Sand & Aqua color scheme out on your embroidery designs for a bright, Caribbean feel to your projects.

Life’s a beach! Sometimes you don’t need an off-the-wall or unexpected color scheme. The gorgeous hues of the ocean are always a good place to find inspiration, especially with already beachy designs! With this Sand & Aqua color scheme, super bright blues bring to mind the waters of the Caribbean, which is never a bad thing. Keep your blues bright and let everything else sit in a neutral tone of sand. See how it compares to the original.
