Sneaker Stormtrooper from Freehand Profit

Just spotted this over on Boing Boing and though it’s not embroidery, I HAD to share…

That’s some of the fabulous work of Urban Threads August featured artist, Freehand Profit. Yup, he created that whole thing out of sneakers.

Though I can’t quite justify the funds to snap up this one on ebay (look honey, I bought a nerd helmet made of shoes!) you can at least snap up some of his work in embroidery format.

Awesome work from one of our very talented artists.

Featured Artist – Victoria Payne

You’ve seen her work before through the Sinister Stitch Chronicles, now you can stitch the mandrake for yourself! That’s right, this month’s featured artist is Victoria Payne!

Click here to check out her work, read the interview and find out all about her inspirations and her exciting new embroidery project. She certainly seems to be a kindred spirit in the world of alternative embroidery.
