The Sinister Stitch Chronicles

Ever since you facebook followers voted on dark fairy tales as our next special series, I’ve had them on the brain. That’s why it’s so perfect that this showed up in my inbox from Freedom of Stitch: a fantastic new project called the Sinister Stitch Chronicles.

Sinister Stitch is a mixed media embroidery project composed of two parts: an Exhibit (which will debut in October 2011) and the Chronicles (airing July through November 2011, with the feature film compiled at year’s end). Featuring 13 Ancient Poisons in Mixed Media Embroidery, it’s a fantastic look into the darker side of needlework, mixed with the fantasy, lore, and legend of old. The first chapter has come out, and I think it’s going to be a really amazing project.

To get your fix for a little dark embroidery, (and we do love that around here) you can check out the first chapter below (or click here), and find out lots more details over on the Freedom of Stitch website.
