My goodness, this has been a fun contest! We had hundreds of entries into this “Craft Is Art” Coloring Contest, and it was so much fun going through them all and seeing all the creative ways you guys made this design your own. Hello All,

Did you have ‘only’ embroidery senders? (and they are good!) — not drawings or quiltings?

    Kind regards,

I like the designs and they all deserve to be among the top 10. But the final decision is not about having the most beautiful design but about having the most social media friends!
I don’t consider that voting as fair for all the participants. I think an unprejudiced jury should decide about the best design!

I would like to suggest that in the future if you have more contests like this (and I hope you do!) that we not see the amount or number of votes for each person/design. I voted and then the results showed and honestly I was a bit horrified. I felt terrible for the folks who spent so much time working on this design, which has quite a few elements and then saw they had so few (or at the time I voted no votes). I see that you’ve changed from the number of votes to a %, I think even that is unnecessary. I personally have a strong ego and I think that would bother me.

    Krys Westfield says:

I’m a little curious at the selection of the finalists. I know I’m going to sound like sour grapes here, but the winner of the hand embroidery group didn’t appear to use a single bit of paint on her project. It is stunning, no doubt. But if the purpose of the contest was to encourage us to push our boundaries and try something painting, those of us who struggled to learn a new technique feel a little burned.
